Using Adhesives Effectively

This presentation will discuss the clinically most effective bonding agents and their application using techniques that will improve clinical success. Each generation of bonding agent will be presented as well as clinical trials which demonstrate their proven success. Bonding agents are discussed to provide answers as to what agent works best in what situation. Fourth (Scotchbond MP Plus, All-bond 2, Optibond FL) fifth generation materials (One Step, Optibond Solo, and Prime and Bond NT), sixth and seventh generation bonding agents will be compared and current techniques demonstrated to ensure clinical success. The newest one and two bottle self-etching materials, Clearfil SE Bond, Easy Bond, I Bond, and Prompt L-Pop will be discussed. A discussion of wet bonding, the hybrid layer and sclerotic dentin management will be shown.
