Regardless of how skilled you are in endodontic treatment, sooner or later, you’ll have to face iatrogenic damage. It could be your mistake or it could be a mistake by a previous doctor, but in either case, you'll have to find a way to fix the problem. Typical iatrogenic damages are perforations. These are communications between the root canal system and the attachment apparatus that may compromise the prognosis of the tooth. A perforation may occur at various stages of treatment, including access cavity preparation, calcified and curved canal negotiation and during post space preparation. |
