“I never had pain until you did that filling… now I probably need a root canal.” We’ve all heard this from our patients. Whether it’s right or wrong, these statements impact dentists’ confidence and reputations. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were materials to help us when a pulp exposure occurs? Or when we suspect the patient will have post-op sensitivity after placement of a deep direct restoration? This CE webinar discusses how to maintain pulp vitality in cases of deep caries and restorations. We will emphasize management of pulp exposures (direct pulp caps), deep restorations (indirect pulp caps), and how to select pulp capping materials. We will compare bioceramics against other pulp capping materials. Examples of pulp capping materials will be given, so that you can implement these techniques in your practice. In recent years, direct anterior composites to improve esthetics in a minimally invasive manner have become increasingly popular. Patients are also being exposed to dental treatments on social media and are seeing what a tooth looks like when it’s drilled down for an indirect porcelain restoration, and it frightens them and they are seeking out alternative less invasive methods to enhance their smiles. Layered “polychromatic” direct composite bonding has been around for a long time, but it is a challenging technique to learn and equally challenging to be fairly compensated for the added time and special materials used. A new single shade composite system has simplified the esthetic anterior composite bonding technique to make it easier for the dentist to achieve seamless results without the frustration of polychromatic layering. This CE webinar will use high quality photography to illustrate how this new single shade composite technique can be used effectively and efficiently to achieve outstanding results.

In just two generations, life expectancies have increased 20 years. With that, you as a clinician are now faced with far more dentulous dentistry in the older population subset. These patients provide wonderful opportunities for you to help, as they present with daily restorative challenges that are entirely different than those of younger patients. Why? Because aging oral issues are, in fact, the perfect recipe for geriatric caries. The reasons for this are many, including large embrasures (food traps), aged dental margins, poor diets, decreased saliva, and decreased dexterity for optimal prevention. This CE webinar will present clear approaches for you to treat these patients. It will also highlight the latest restorative materials and techniques to best help in these clinical situations. Management of the gingival tissues before, during, and after restorative procedures has a profound effect on the long-term success of a case. Since many dental materials include a resin-based component in the procedure (adhesive, composite, or cement), it is imperative that the gingival tissues be healthy throughout the oral rehabilitation process. Once completed, proper home care regimens are required daily as well as regular recare visits to maintain functional health. This CE webinar will discuss and demonstrate materials and techniques to manage soft tissues during and after treatment to ensure your patient the best chance for an optimal restorative result. Essential to every dental procedure is the precision to which a dental bur can perform. Whether adjusting a pristine ceramic surface, removing a resin attachment from clear aligner therapy, protecting the pulp from deep decay, or creating endo access, dentists rely on the design of the dental bur to deliver results. More than ever, clinicians are looking to adopt safe and predictable methods to treat tooth surfaces, ceramics, and patients.
